About Cooperatives.com
The definitive resource for the global cooperative economy. We cover every sector, every country, built by people who believe in the cooperative model.
Our Mission
Cooperatives are one of the most significant forms of economic organisation in the world — yet they remain underserved by the internet. Over three million cooperatives operate globally, employing more than twelve percent of the world's employed population. Their story deserves to be told clearly, accurately, and in one place.
Cooperatives.com exists to fill that gap. We publish in-depth guides, country profiles, sector overviews, and practical resources for anyone who works with, studies, or is building a cooperative business.
We are an independent information resource. We are not affiliated with any cooperative federation, government body, or trade association. Our editorial decisions are our own.
Editorial Standards
Who writes our content
Cooperatives.com is written and edited by our in-house editorial team — researchers and writers focused on cooperative economics, governance, and sector analysis. Every guide is reviewed for factual accuracy before it is published, and we revisit articles as laws, figures, and best practices change. Articles reflect the editorial position of Cooperatives.com rather than any single contributor.
How we research
Our articles are researched against primary sources — including the International Cooperative Alliance (ICA), USDA cooperative data, national cooperative legislation, and peer-reviewed academic research. Where data changes frequently, such as membership counts and asset figures, we note the reference year alongside the statistic rather than presenting it as timeless fact.
Where our directory data comes from
Cooperative listings are compiled from official public registries: the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) in the United States, the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) in the Philippines, and the Central Registrar of Cooperative Societies (CRCS) in India. Each cooperative profile names the registry it was sourced from, and we are independent of — and not affiliated with — the organisations listed. Found an error? Tell us and we will correct it.
