How to claim
Open the official portal

Register with Aadhaar
Your identity is checked with Aadhaar e-KYC. The Ministry set two conditions: your Aadhaar must be linked to your mobile number, and to your bank account. Never share a one-time password (OTP) with anyone.
Fill in your deposit details
Enter the details of each deposit from your certificate or passbook: the society, your membership number and the account or certificate number. They are matched against the records the society supplied.
Upload your proof
Upload the documents the portal asks for, such as your deposit certificates or receipts. Keep copies of everything you upload.
Submit and watch for updates
Keep a copy of what you submitted. You are told the status of your claim by SMS and on the portal.

Questions depositors ask
Who can apply?
Genuine depositors of the four Sahara societies whose deposits had matured and remained unpaid as on 31 March 2023. Claims are checked with Aadhaar e-KYC and against the societies' own records.
How much is paid, and where?
In the current phase, official releases say up to Rs 50,000 of principal is paid to each genuine depositor on a verified claim. The money goes only to your bank account that is linked (seeded) to your Aadhaar.
How long does it take?
The Ministry said at launch that, subject to the funds available, payment would be credited within 45 days of filing an online claim. On 8 September 2026 it reported about 20 lakh applications still pending, so allow for delays.
My claim was rejected or marked deficient. What now?
Depositors are told what is wrong with a deficient claim and can correct it and file it again on the re-submission portal, mocresubmit.crcs.gov.in. If a payment failed, check at your bank branch that your account is active and linked to your Aadhaar.
What about the Rs 10 lakh I have heard about?
News reports mention resubmitted claims of up to Rs 10 lakh. The latest official release on payments (17 March 2026) says up to Rs 50,000 is being paid to each genuine depositor on verified claims. Check the resubmission portal for its own rules before you resubmit.
Is there a deadline?
The Supreme Court has allowed the Central Registrar to pay refunds to depositors until 31 December 2026. No last date for filing or resubmitting a claim appears in the official releases; check the portal for any notice.
Do I need an agent, and do I have to pay?
No agent is needed: you apply yourself on the portal. The Ministry advises depositors to use only the official portals, to protect themselves from unauthorised channels and misleading claims. In villages and remote areas, Common Service Centres were asked to help genuine depositors file claims.
